Mesa is stepping into a new era of economic strength and global connection — and Mayor Mark Freeman is making sure our city has a seat at the table.
In a December 29, 2025 article for AZ Big Media, Mayor Freeman shared how Mesa is attracting global investment, creating high-quality jobs, and building a diversified economy that benefits families across the city. With strong infrastructure, a skilled workforce, and a collaborative mindset, Mesa has become a magnet for companies in advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, biotech, and more.
“Mesa is open for business — and the world is taking notice,” Mayor Freeman said.
Right now, Mayor Freeman is leading a Mesa delegation on a strategic trade mission to Japan, working alongside the Arizona Commerce Authority, GPEC, ASU, and SRP. Japan recently committed $550 billion to U.S. energy, semiconductor, and medical infrastructure, and Mesa is poised to capture a significant share of that investment.
International companies like Fujifilm, JX Advanced Metals, Komatsu, KoMiCo, Moses Lake Industries, and XNRGY are already growing in Mesa — creating jobs, strengthening our tax base, and laying the foundation for long-term prosperity.
Mayor Freeman’s strategy is simple and rooted in common sense:
-
Diversify the economy
-
Grow high-wage careers
-
Recruit industry leaders who invest in the community
These efforts aren’t just about today — they’re about ensuring opportunity for the next generation of Mesa families. As the mayor points out, “Just one advanced manufacturer can create hundreds of good jobs and ripple out benefits for decades.”
Mesa’s proactive leadership, global partnerships, and steady vision are positioning the city as a leader in American innovation.
